Enrolment patterns in Nordic higher education 1970-2010

In 2011, the research network Nordic Fields of Higher Education was established with financial support from NordForsk. The network is headed by Professor Mikael Börjesson, Sociology of Education, Uppsala University, and consists of research groups from various higher education institutions and research institutes in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Articles commemorating 100 years since Hjort’s 1914 treatise

A hundred years ago, the Norwegian oceanographer Johan Hjort published his groundbreaking work “Fluctuations in the great fisheries of northern Europe, viewed in the light of biological research”. In a special issue of the ICES Journal of Marine Science, researchers at NIFU Vera Schwach and Dag W. Aksnes contributed with two articles.

Polar research in the Kingdom of Denmark is mapped

In total 723 million kroner was spent on polar research in 2013 by institutions and institutes located in Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. In terms of work effort, a total of 611 polar research work years (full time equivalents) were carried out.
