Practical information

The workshop will be held in The University of Bergen’s recently refurbished building in Nygårdsgaten 5, in the middle of Bergen city centre. The venue is located close to the university campus and to the concert hall Grieghallen, and within easy walking distance from most hotels, restaurants and traffic hubs.

Reception Wednesday 29.10.25
On Wednesday, The City Council invites us all to a reception in the historic Schøtstuene – a part of the Hanseatic quarters, which also include Bryggen, Bergen’s UNESCO World Heritage Site. Please indicate in the registration if you want to participate in the reception at 18:00 – 19:00. 

Dinner Thursday 30.10.25
On Thursday, we will gather for a conference dinner at the scenic Fløirestauranten on the top of Mount Fløien. It is most conveniently reached by funicular from the city centre (5 minutes walk from The Fish Market). It is also a beautiful walk up and/or down, about 3 kilometres from the city centre, fairly steep, on gravel or asphalt road (several options). Bring good shoes if you want to do it and allow 45-60 minutes depending on walking speed and the number of photos you want to take!
